The story
Why I built it.
I try to learn something new about football every day. Honestly, the hardest part is finding new content to learn from.
So I built ChalkTalkFB. It serves up a fresh concept every day and keeps changing the topic: a coverage on Sunday, a passing concept on Monday, a position on Tuesday, and so on. I wanted it to be more entertaining than reading something, so every idea gets drawn up on a chalkboard and explained in under a minute.
And yes, it's built with AI. I'm not hiding that. It's the whole point. AI helps write and fact-check every script, gives it a voice, animates the chalk, checks the result, and gets it scheduled. That's how one person can put out a new Short every single day.
I'm not doing this to get rich. I love the game, and I just want to share what I'm learning.
Episode 001 · Defense Sunday
The first Short.
“Why Every QB Hates Cover 2”
Launched October 2026. Two safeties split the deep field, five defenders sit underneath, and the Smash concept shows how to beat it. Every episode follows the same recipe: a 2.5-second animated chalk intro, one concept, and a logo outro that teases the next day's theme.
How it works
From idea to upload, automated.
Six steps, every day, mostly run by AI. A daily automation builds the next Short each morning and keeps about a week in the queue.
- 01
Topic
An AI assistant picks the day's concept to fit the theme, with no repeats.
- 02
Script
Written and fact-checked by AI. One concept, under 60 seconds.
- 03
Voice
Kokoro open-source text-to-speech, with custom pronunciation fixes like “DEE-fense.”
- 04
Chalk animation
Python draws the field, X's, O's, and arrows in chalk. ffmpeg renders it.
- 05
QA
Automated speech-to-text checks catch clipped or misheard words.
- 06
Schedule
Hosted on Cloudflare Pages and queued to YouTube through Buffer for noon ET.
The schedule
A theme for every day.
A new Short drops daily at noon Eastern. Shown with the launch-week lineup.
